summary
This traveling exhibit had such astounding attendance that it was held over at Oregon Historical Society for an additional 3 months. The exhibit tells the story of the Black population in Oregon from 1940 to the dawn of urban renewal and the social upheaval of the 1960’s. Artifacts, personal stories and recordings from many sources challenge the visitor to experience what it was like to be apart of the Black community in Portland during such a tumultuous period in Oregon's history.
