summary
All materials had to be delivered to this remote island on a small plane, limiting panel size to 48” maximum.
A light weight grid system was designed for panel framing.
Panels were designed to be fabricated as direct prints on sintra and panel frames to be made of wood that could withstand the tropical weather and be fabricated on the island.
Using quotes and striking imagery the larger 96"x96" layouts were designed so they could be fabricated in four pieces.
The Welcome panels and the story of “The Battle of Midway” were fully developed, fabricated, and installed for the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Midway, June 4, 2012, on Midway Atoll.
The remaining seven areas planned and outlined will be developed by the USFWS in the future.
