Research & Writing
Chinese immigrants Ing Hay and Lung On practiced medicine and for 60 years operated a general store in John Day, Oregon called Kam Wah Chung & Co. Filled with artifacts from 1887 to the 1940s, their store is now on the National Historic Register. The team created an exhibit telling their story, set in historical context, using artifacts and images from the Kam Wah Chung collection. The team worked with the Park staff and enlisted the help of historical experts and Chinese artisans. Exhibit was designed to be moveable.
